Kilimanjaro Safaris

Mt. Kilimanjaro, Tanzania is an excellent destination to experience in October. October is the best month for a Kilimanjaro trip due to agreeable weather, which gives you a high chance to reach the summit. June to November, as well as February, are also suitable months to climb the mountain as there are fewer chances for rain. Crowned as one of UNESCO World Heritage Site, tons of hikers include its summit on top of their lists. Wildlife is inexhaustible in the Mount Kilimanjaro National Park. You will witness majestic animals like baboons, mongooses, bush pigs, elephants and more. At the edge of the mountain, you can also explore the wonderful Lake Chala. The lake’s crystal waters with turquoise and emerald green hues will take your breath away. Along with your hike, you will see different species of plants and vegetations, ferns and humongous trees. There are endless surprises climbing mount Kilimanjaro; it will stimulate your senses as you savor a spectacular view of Africa -- its skies, lands, among where abundant wildlife lives.

Machame Route, 6 day scheduled trekking tour

A physically demanding route through a variety of landscapes. The hike is steeper and daily sections are longer than other routes, but it offers a good acclimatization profile. This is our most popular route. Accommodation is in tents. Climbs depart every Saturday, except in rainy season (April & May).

The lesser-known Lemosho route begins on the western side of Mt Kilimanjaro. The first 2 days of the tour cross the thick rainforest belt which then changes into heath and moorland with many ferns and ericas along the way. The small trail sometimes has very steep passages and goes through diverse landscapes. On the third day, the trail joins the Machame route. Compared to the Marangu and the Rongai route, the Lemosho route is more challenging.

8 DAY RONGAI ROUTE

The Rongai Route is thought to be one of the easiest Kilimanjaro routes. It typically has very little foot traffic compared to the other routes. The minimum duration for this trip is 6 days and that itinerary is described below. Additional Acclimatization: You can add an additional day for acclimatization by taking a longer route east to Mawenzi Tarn on Day 2 and meeting back up with the trail at the Kibo Huts on Day 5. Elite Kilimanjaro recommends this option as it greatly increases your chances of success.

9 DAY RONGAI ROUTE

The 9 day Rongai route follows the same route as the 8 Day Rongai route except that there is an additional acclimatization day on Day 5. The route begins in Moshi when you arrive on day 1 at your lodge. The climb begins at the remote, northern side of Kilimanjaro, near the Kenyan border. We hike through a true wilderness area towards the jagged Mawenzi Peak, then cross a barren desert saddle, before climbing up Kibo's eastern crater wall.
